This annual Lincoln event coordinated by the LPSG and supported by parent-volunteers, is an opportunity for your child to shop at school for friends and family members. It gives students a chance to gain experience budgeting, making cash transactions, and in the process feel proud to have made purchases for the special people in their lives. Parent-volunteers will assist students with their purchases and wrapping their special gifts.
Santa's Workshop Hours
Monday & Tuesday, Dec 17 & 18 (during school hours)
Wednesday & Thursday, Dec 19 & 20 (after Holiday Programs)
Teachers will take their classes to shop during school hours Monday, December 17 & 18. In addition, Santa’s Workshop will be open on the evenings of the Winter Programs following each show (K-2 December 19 and Grade 3-5 December 20).
If your student would like to participate, have them bring money to school in the envelope provided. Please indicate the amount of money to be spent for each person. Helpers will assist your child in choosing, purchasing, and wrapping their gifts.
Parent-volunteer shifts are broken into 1-hr time slots for the entire duration the Santa's Workshop is open. We would like to have at least 3 parent-volunteers, and 2 board members present for each hour slot available. Feel free to sign up for multiple slots and multiple days as your availability allows.
During school hours, teachers will bring their classrooms into the Lincoln Library and allow their students to shop. Parent-volunteers will act as "Santa's Helpers" and assist student in 1) selecting, 2) purchasing, and then 3) wrapping their chosen gift(s) for friends and loved ones.
The Workshop will also be open for approx half an hour after the Holiday Programs, Wednesday and Thursday, Dec 19 and 20 and we have slots open for parent-volunteers then as well (from approximately 7-7:30pm depending on when the Holiday Programs finish).
